Homemade Cards - Nice Touch or Cheapskate?

We at KidsBirthdays.ie believe that birthday cards are expensive. What could be nicer than for a child to receive a card designed and made by their friend..... what do you think? Are homemade cards a nice touch or just cheapskate?
